A lot of people day-dream. But did you know there is actually such a place? Yes – Daydream Island is a place where those day-dreams can be realized. The people that run the island resort have gone out of their way to make this one of the most interesting of places. For example, the island has its very own custom made open air lagoon just teaming with marine creatures. Here you’ll find colorful fish of great variety, mollusks, shells, living coral. You can snorkel and dive beneath to your heart’s content. And the team that run Daydream...well, they just keep coming up with more and more ideas to keep holiday makers happy. Actually it’s quite small compared to most of the others, being only one kilometre in length and approximately 400 metres wide. But make no mistake about it, it is a quality place. There is a beautiful rain forest that sits right in the center. A fantastic place for a stroll at any time of the day. There is a variety of beaches, board walks, and a marina where you can hire a boat. The Island is also open to ‘day visitors’; people who wish to stop over for a few hours to have a look around to and soak up some of that tropical sunshine. Daydream Island Reviews - HistoryThis island was first named West Molle. That was back in 1881. Its name was then changed to Daydream in the 1930’s when a holiday resort was first established there. The place has had a number of owners since its beginning and has gradually improved with time.AccommodationDaydream Island Resort and Spa is a world-class, 4.5 star resort that is situated right on the tip of the Island. The resort overlooks crystal white sandy beaches bordered by tropical aqua-blue waters that are just perfect for all types of water sports and relaxation. You simply stroll out your front door and you’re there. Great Barrier Reef Reviews AttractionsSailors just love this little place and flock here because of its easy access. Naturally it has a marina, a marina surrounded by smooth waters and fabulous views. As mentioned, the Island also has its very own lagoon for those who are a little scared to enter the open ocean. But you can still see what the reef provides by way of marine life. This man-made, open aquarium boasts eighty different species of sea life and fifty different species of coral. And, as also previously mentioned, you can get right into it. It really is an eye opener for little ones and adults alike. Added attractions Catamarans, fish-feeding, marine educational talks, open-air cinema, water polo, beach volleyball, and a wide variety of sailing adventures. Add to this: diving, snorkeling, and the cruises and helicopter trips that are available, and you’ll see what I mean about being the place to stay. It’s got the lot. Actually there is way more than just this mentioned above. Once you get to the Island you’ll see exactly what I mean.
Wildlife on DaydreamDaydream Island Reviews, yes about our beloved Aussie animals! It is also common to see brush wallabies hopping along the fringes of the beaches. Early morning and late evening would be the best time to view these, so don’t forget to bring your camera. Then there are the native birds: parrots, kookaburras, kingfishers, and many a migrating species just stopping over for a rest. Yes, Daydream...it may be quite small...but that puts everything in easy reach. And isn’t that what you want, anyway?
